Elav Conference: Arab Christian and Jewish Youth United Through the Messiah

Jewish-men-praying-Western-Wall-Kotel

September 1, 2011 Recently, youth and young adults who believe that Yeshua is the promised Messiah of Israel gathered in Tel Aviv from all over Israel, Gaza and the world to worship God at the annual Elav (Unto Him) Conference. As in past years, Elav was held at a major rock concert venue in Tel Aviv called Hangar 11. Instead of rock music, however, worship and praise filled this huge warehouse for three days and nights. Young Arab Believers in Yeshua (Jesus) from Gaza and Bethlehem united with their Messianic Jewish brothers and sisters to seek the face of the God of Jacob with one voice and heart.

The Name of Yeshua
He Heals the Lame, by James Tissot

Recently, some of our readers have asked us why we use the name Yeshua in the place of Jesus. Other readers challenge us to use Yahshua instead of Yeshua, believing that Yah more accurately reflects the divine nature of Yeshua and is the correct way to pronounce the name of the Jewish Messiah. Still others think the real name of Yeshua is the derogatory Yeshu. Which is correct?

Anniversary of Key End-Time Event
French New Immigrants-Israeli Citizens-Western Wall

Today, some Israelis and friends of the Jewish State around the world will mark the 94th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which is part of the fulfillment of end-time Biblical prophecy, and the amazing story of the rebirth of Israel as a nation. "Thus says the Lord God: 'Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own Land.'" (Ezekiel 37:21) The Balfour declaration (1917), which is named after Arthur James Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary during the World War 1, influenced the Jewish communities of the world to believe that Great Britain would support the creation of a Jewish state in the Middle East.

Today, is Pesach Sheni (Second Passover). This second Passover falls exactly 30 days after the day on which the Korban Pesach (Passover lamb) was brought to the Temple to be slaughtered for the Passover Seder and eaten in the evening with matzah (unleavened bread) and herbs. This holiday is unique from every other Jewish holiday. God provided it as a day of second chances in response to the plea of the Israelites who couldn’t keep Pesach (Passover) just like they had in Egypt the year before because they had become tamai (ritually unclean).
