Should Christians Pressure Israel to Vacate the Settlements?

May 10, 2013 The worldwide media, the Arab League, and the United Nations continue to pressure Israel to stop allowing Jewish people to build homes in Biblical Israel (the land that God promised to Abraham, as specified in the Bible, as the places where the children of Israel would live or settle). These Jewish communities are demonized by the world press as “Occupied Territories,” leaving the impression that the Jewish people are settling on land that doesn't belong to them. In an effort to pressure Israel to bring an end to this so-called occupation, many misinformed Christian individuals and large denominations such as the Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and the World Council of Churches, with hundreds of millions of members who don't understand the Jewish roots of the Bible or their faith have joined an international boycott of Israeli products.

Counting the Omer and Yeshua’s Soon Return

April 29, 2013 After the appointed festivals of Pesach (Passover) and Bikkurim (First Fruits), which occurred on the second day of Passover, we entered into a period called Sefirat HaOmer, or Counting the Omer (Sheaf). The Torah commands the Jewish People to count seven weeks (49 days) from the time of this wave offering until the evening of the festival of Shavuot. Shavuot occurs on the fiftieth day.

April 18, 2013 This week’s combined Torah portion, Parasha Acharei-Kedoshim, discusses Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) and holiness. It begins with Aaron, the Cohen Hagadol (high priest), preparing for the crucial once-a-year sacrifice on the Day of Atonement. In order to minister before the Lord on this holy day, Aaron first immersed himself in the mikvah (ritual cleansing). Before he brought the ketoret (incense offering) into the Holy of Holies, the innermost chamber of the Sanctuary, he put on simple, white linen clothing, representing purity and humility, which was appropriate for this sacred day, instead of his resplendent golden garments.
