Israeli Doctors Save Jordanian Boy

March 26, 2014 Last week, even as the Jordanian parliament was calling for the ousting of Israel’s envoy to Jordan (due to the self-defense killing of a Jordanian judge at the Allenby Bridge crossing), Israeli doctors at Haifa's Rambam Medical Center provided a 7-year-old Jordanian boy with his mother's donated kidney. After the boy faced critical kidney failure, his parents wrote a request to the Civil Administration Health Services for the operation to go forward at Rambam Medical Center.

Abbas Rejects Israel As a Jewish State

March 24, 2014 Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was given a hero's welcome as he returned home from Washington. Hundreds of Palestinian Authority employees and schoolchildren gathered at his presidential office in Ramallah, thanking him for resisting United States President Barack Obama’s pressure to extend the US-brokered peace talks with Israel, which are set to end April 29, 2014. Before he left for Washington, similar rallies chanted slogans in his support, urging him not to yield to US pressure to make concessions with Israel for the sake of creating a two-state solution.

British Prime Minister David Cameron Speaks at the Knesset

March 19, 2014 Last week, during British Prime Minister David Cameron’s first visit to Israel as prime minister, he assured Israelis of his solidarity with the Jewish nation. “With me, you have a British Prime Minister whose belief in Israel is unbreakable and whose commitment to Israel’s security will always be rock solid.‬ “I will always stand up for the right of Israel to defend its citizens, a right enshrined in international law, in natural justice and fundamental morality, and in decades of common endeavor between Israel and her allies,” he told the Israeli Knesset (parliament).

Hamas Unveils Monument to Missiles

March 19, 2014 Last week, as Israel was presenting to the world the haul of weapons caught in passage from Iran to Gaza, Hamas unveiled a statue with a rocket on the top, designed to honor its ability to strike Israel. At the unveiling, a Hamas leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades military wing said, “Hamas managed to take the battle to the heart of the Zionist entity (Israel) after developing its rocket system, succeeding where many Arab armies had failed.”

Iranian General Says Iran is Ready to Destroy Israel

March 19, 2014 Last week, Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami announced that the Iranian military is ready to attack and to destroy Israel when ordered to do so. “Today, we can destroy every spot which is under the Zionist regime’s control with any volume of fire power (that we want) right from here,” Salami told a conference in Tehran last week.

Rabbis Warn Kerry He Is in Danger of Divine Wrath

February 12, 2014 A group of nationalist rabbis from the Committee to Save the Land and People of Israel warned US Secretary of State John Kerry that if he continues to force peace negotiations on Israel he will be drawing down upon himself the wrath of God. "Your incessant efforts to expropriate integral parts of our Holy Land and hand them over to Abbas’s terrorist gang, amount to a declaration of war against the Creator and Ruler of the universe. For God awarded the entire Land of Israel to our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in order that they bequeath it, as an everlasting inheritance, to their descendants, the Jewish people, until the end of all time," they wrote last week in an open letter.

Scarlett Johansson Supports SodaStream, Quits Oxfam

February 5, 2014 Pro-Palestinian activists have criticized SodaStream for maintaining a large factory in the disputed territories. Some claim the company is taking advantage of Palestinians who have few other employment options. While some deceptively portray the SodaStream plant as a kind of “slave labor” camp for Palestinians, nothing could be further from the truth. At SodaStream, the workers earn a decent wage (much more than they could earn in the Palestinian Authority) and have benefits and breaks. They can even pray in the small onsite mosque that the company has provided for them without being docked time from their break allowances.

PA Incitement Remains an Obstacle to Peace

February 5, 2014 Palestinians are actively sabotaging the “peace process” through incitement even while in the midst of negotiations, according to a statement released by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) last week. The incitement, which fosters a culture of hatred, is present in the Palestinian media and statements being made by PA officials. “This culture of hatred is a decisive factor in increasing both the number of terrorist attacks and their severity. Children are educated to hate Jews and Israelis from an early age, and adults are encouraged to carry out terrorist attacks,” the MFA said on its website.

170,000 Rockets Aimed at Israel

February 5, 2014 For the first time in decades, all of Israel’s cities can be attacked by enemy forces, Israel’s chief of military intelligence Major General Aviv Kochavi warned last week. “About 170,000 rockets and missiles are pointed at Israel, and they are deadlier than ever,” the Intelligence Chief said. “Many of these weapons can be fired deep into Israel’s territory.”

Jewish Prayer Rally at Western Wall Upholds Peace Negotiations

February 3, 2014 Last Thursday, thousands of Israelis gathered in Jerusalem at the Western (Wailing) Wall to pray “for the salvation of Israel and the inheritance,” in the hopes of cancelling “Kerry’s verdict.” The prayer rally—which also was attended by the likes of Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel, Deputy Religious Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, MK (member of parliament) Orit Struk and MK Moti Yogev—was a response to reports that the US Secretary of State John Kerry had proposed that Israel withdraw to the 1949 Armistice lines. “We came here to strengthen the prime minister in guarding the land of Israel,” said Rabbi Ben-Dahan. “Most residents of the country aren’t ready to divide Jerusalem, as is said to be proposed in the plan.”
