Ancient mosaic tiles that cover the rock on which the two ancient Jewish Temples stood are being excavated by the Islamic Waqf authority without archaeological supervision. Although such work must first be reviewed by the Ministerial Committee on Archaeological Digs at Holy Sites and approved by the Israel Antiquities Authority, especially in a case such as this where heavy equipment is involved, no permits were requested or acquired prior to the work inside the Mosque of Omar or Golden Dome (Dome of the Rock).

Earlier this April, around 2,200 Israelis retraced the steps of the Twelve Tribes of Israel when they took part in the first international Bible Marathon. While many know that the marathon is named after a battlefield from which Pheidippides raced to Athens to report a victory in 490 BC, few realize that the Bible records an earlier run. Three thousand years ago, a man from the tribe of Benjamin ran 42 kilometers (the official length of the Olympic running contest, determined in 1908 at the London Olympics) from the battlefield at Eben-Ezer to the center of Israeli worship where the Tabernacle was placed—Shiloh. Netanyahu Releases Frozen Tax Revenues Despite PA Joining ICC

Following recommendations made by Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, the Israeli Prime Minister has approved transfer of frozen Palestinian Authority (PA) tax revenue. NIS 500 million ($125 million) funds were frozen in January when the Palestinian Authority took steps to gain recognition of a Palestine state at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and other international bodies, which breaches agreements made with Israel.
