Netanyahu Rejects Undue Criticism of Building in Jerusalem

November 3, 2014 Several international bodies recently lashed out at Israel after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued approval for building in Jerusalem. "For some there is a never a convenient time to build homes in Jerusalem, and if it had depended on them, we would never have built one home during the last 60 years because it was never the appropriate time," he said at the opening of the winter session of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) on Monday. "There is wide agreement among the public that Israel has the full right to build the Jewish neighborhoods of Jerusalem. Every Israeli government in the last 50 years did that, and it is also clear to the Palestinians that those places will stay under Israeli control in any mutual agreement," he said. "The French build in Paris, the English build in London, the Israelis build in Jerusalem. Should we tell Jews not to live in Jerusalem because it will stir things up?"

Three-Month-Old Girl Dies as Abbas’ Incitement Leads to Violence in Jerusalem

October 26, 2014 The prime minister of Israel blamed Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas for inciting violence after the attack of a Hamas terrorist, who on Wednesday plowed his car through a crowd in Jerusalem at the Ammunition Hill light rail station during rush hour, killing a baby and injuring eight others. The Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Mark Regev said, “Today’s terror attack in Jerusalem, the attack on a mother and baby, is typical of Hamas, President Abbas’ partner in the Palestinian government. President Abbas himself unfortunately continues to use inflammatory rhetoric inciting against Israelis. This is instead of being a force for peace and reconciliation.” On Thursday, Netanyahu pointed to Abbas' call on Friday to Palestinians to use "any means" to bar the settlers from the Temple Mount.

Israeli Child First to Register as Aramean Christian

October 24, 2014 Only a month after Israel’s Interior Ministry announced it would recognize Aramean as a national identity on legal documents, Yaakov Halul, 2, from Gush Halav in the Galilee has become the first Israeli child registered as Christian Armenian. Christian IDF Officers Forum leader Capt. (res.) Shadi Halul and his wife registered the child on Monday hailing it an historic event.

Abbas and Hamas Call to Ban Jews from Temple Mount

October 19, 2014 In its latest bout of warmongering against Israel, Hamas launched a rally in Gaza City on Friday shouting for the "defense" of the al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount, while Fatah's Mahmoud Abbas urged for a ban of Jews from the holy mountain. "This is our sacred place, al-Aqsa is ours, this Noble Sanctuary (the Temple Mount) is ours … they have no right to go there and desecrate it," said Abbas of the Jews, stating that Jews should be stopped from entering the Temple Mount "by any means."

Formula One Makes Jerusalem Circuit Encore

October 10, 2014 The streets of Jerusalem were closed for two days this week as the second annual non-competitive Jerusalem Formula One Road Show sent roaring supercars coursing around some of Judaism’s holiest sites. Roads around the Old City of Jerusalem closed between noon and 9 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday as about 300,000 Israelis lined the streets to watch international race-car and stunt drivers.

October 9, 2014 Carrying forward the tradition of Israel's first prime minister, David Ben Gurion, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened his home this past Sunday, October 7, for his sixth official Bible study class attended by dozens of formal guests. The Shmuel Ben-Artzi Bible study, named for Netanyahu's father-in-law, brought the prime minister's family together with the parents of Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach—three Israeli teens Hamas abducted and murdered in June.
